Pampering Yourself in the New Year with NIVEA #NIVEAmoments

It’s the new year and that means new resolutions, and I promised myself I would try to pamper myself in the new year. Pampering yourself is very important it’s actually makes you healthier.  Studies say ”That 90 percent of illnesses are stress related, Under stress, circulation decreases, digestion slows, and immune function is compromised.”  Pampering yourself doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. Sometimes just a few simple activities are all it takes to put you in a positive mindset. That’s why I decided to go to Sam’s club and find a few things to help me have a bit of *Me* time.

nievaaaWhen I went to Sam’s Club (you can view my shopping trip on Google+) they have a fab deal on NIVEA Essentially Enriched lotion for only $9 for two 16.9 oz bottles. That’s why I love being a  Sam’s club member I am always saving money there.  NIVEA is my go to lotion especially when I am having a dry skin day. It moisturizes my skin and makes it so smooth!

What i decided to do for my *Me* time was run myself a hot bath, light a candle and forget all of my worries of the day. Once i got out i put on some NIEVA Lotion and slipped on my Favorite PJ’s. It felt relaxing, so i made myself some hot tea and painted my nails while watching a movie. It was a perfect night, i really need to have more *Me* time.

If you had some “ME TIME” what would you do?

If you are a tech geek like me follow NIEVA on Facebook and Twitter, and check out there Website. Follow #NIVEAmoments on Pinterest

Pink Stiletto Cosmetics: Whip it good

web_banner (1)

I am so excited to share with you guys my new Favorite cosmetic line called Pink Stiletto Cosmetics. Let me share with you  a bit about Pink Stiletto cosmetics. Pink Stiletto Cosmetics began it’s mission to create better makeup 2 years ago. They started with a few ingredients and a goal.. Make colors that were true to color and left out all of the extras that make traditional makeup, itchy, uncomfortable and dull. From the fairest skin to the deepest ebony Pink Stiletto has got a color you’re bound to love.

I had the pleasure of reviewing a few of their products which of course I was excited about. Let me tell you, I am in love with PSC, they are so different than any other cosmetic company out there. They take great care in their customers wants and needs. By listening to their requests and ideas, issues and concerns. I am not saying this just because i am doing a review on their products, I’m saying this because i had the privilege of speaking one on one with PSC founder Crystal Carmen. When i shared with her my skin concerns, she guided me on what makeup would be best for my skin. (Look for her one on one interview soon)

Pinks

Here are some of the products I received:

Flaunt it Blush

Glow Shadow

Pixie Shadow

Spice Shadow

Dynasty Lip Whip

Foundation X in Boston

*These are sample sizes for review purposes only*

The color combo PSC sent was  all about building the perfect smokey eye.

I really loved the Lip Whip it’s so smooth and at first i thought it would have been too glossy or something. But i was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t, it was the perfect cross between lipstick and lip gloss and lasted all day. I only re-applied it once because I was eating and wiped it off with a napkin way too hard  haha

IMG_1073

IMG_1068

Glow( Pictured on Right) is a brilliant brown based hold that leaves a slightly sparkly finish.   Flaunt it is a super shimmery orange based blush that just gives the perfect amount of peach with a golden shimmer that makes your skin glow.

IMG_1074

Spice is a super plum brown that can be used as a crease color, smokey shade, use with setting spray to make eyeliner or even as a contour shade for darker skin tones.

IMG_1075

Foundation X in Boston is a foundation that covers, moisturizes and contains a botanical blend that helps keep your skin look good from the inside out! Leave a dew like finish. Wear as is or set with finishing powder for a matter look. I have been looking for a great foundation and finally my search is over. Boston went on so smoothly and felt fresh. It didn’t leave my skin oily or dirty feeling like other foundations do.

IMG_1076

Pixie is a frosty and shimmery gray shade that works perfect as a highlight in the inner year duct.

Overall I love PSC they exceeded my expectations , I recommend you give them a try you won’t regret it.

As you all know when it comes to the holidays everything is quite hectic and you feel like you will never finish anything in time for the Holidays.  A couple weeks ago, I had the great opportunity to participate in a webinar with celebrity stylist Robert Verdi and home entertainment expert Katie Lee. They are both working with P&G to share some of their favorite products this holiday season with us. They had amazing tips and i learned so much from them.

Follow Robert on twitter at @RobertVerdi.

Some of Robert Verdi’s tips included:

He said the main things you need to have in your wardrobe are a sexy fitted tuexdo jacket pair it up jeans or a pencil skirt. He also suggested to get items you can layer with
other pieces like a white shirt it’s an easy backdrop for everything. Don’t forget that little black dress lady that is a must this season with a bit of sparkle. Also to be camera ready you should wear a bit of red it photographs well even if its just on your lips.

“Marta and I thought it would be great to introduce a Spanish section to the blog, we hope you all enjoy it.”

Maquillista Liz Shakira Ramos

Maquillista Liz Shakira Ramos

#DoveInspired Vive Mejor’s Hablemos (Let’s Talk) Campaign

In our society where real beauty is usually photoshopped, or what society tells us is beautiful is distorted  it’s important we talk to young girls. And let them know they are beautiful as they are.  They are bombarded with images of “ideal beauty”, from unrealistically airbrushed photo spreads and glossy magazine covers. For young women, low self-esteem can lead to poor choices that can sabotage success and interfere with their health.

According to Dove Global research:

*  72% of girls ages (10-17) feel tremendous pressure to be beautiful.(1)

*  Only 11% of girls ages (10-17) are comfortable using the word beautiful to describe themselves.(2)

*  When girls feel badly about their looks more than 60% globally (age 15-17) avoid normal daily activities including attending school, going to the doctor, or even giving their opinion.(3)

Dove believes beauty should be a source of confidence, not anxiety. Girls are listening – women just need to start the conversation. A simple act, such as starting a conversation about beauty, can make a world of difference. Dove is committed to inspiring all women and girls to reach their full potential. The Dove Movement for Self-Esteem opens up a world of opportunities for women to make a difference.

Ways you can be a positive influence in a young girls/woman’s life.

  • Be a positive role model. Don’t talk negatively about your own body. Try not to be overly focused on your appearance.
  • Don’t praise girls solely for their appearance. Praise should be focused on effort and accomplishments.Watch how you talk about other people: Are you judgmental of people’s appearances?
  • Make sure you’re sending a message to your children/niece’s etc  that it’s what’s inside—especially how we treat others—that defines a person and makes us who we are.
  • Watch your own stereotypes; let daughters help fix the kitchen sink and let sons help make dinner.
  • Help girls avoid becoming obsessed with how they look. Counteract advertisers who take advantage of preteen and teenage girls by making them feel they need certain products to feel “cool.”

Vive Mejor Hablemos “Let’s Talk” is an initiative that Dove started to encourage young girls to be confident about being beautiful. 72% of young girls feel tremendous pressure to be beautiful according to Dove Global Research. What if you could take their opinion of what being beautiful is and replace it with something more meaningful? Would you do it?
