Plus Size:Spring Trends 2012

Ahh, spring is in the air. You may feel ready for it but is your wardrobe? Spring’s trends this year are all about simplicity, with a twist!  These are just a Few trends that caught my eye.

Maxi Dresses

Your legs are craving the fresh air of spring, so give them what they want with one of spring’s top trends the maxi dress. I have a feeling this is going to be big in summer also! You can find them in a range of prints and colors, so you’ll easily find one to fit your day-to-day style.

I just love this Dress so much it's the perfect spring outfit.

Color Blocking

The hottest trend of the spring/summer season is color–blocking, and personally,i cannot be more excited. The idea is pretty clear: separate colors into bold, singular sections!

The Mix of the two colors are perfect!

Color blocking can be seen in many things, such as Clutches,Watches,Shoes, Jewelry etc

Pretty In Pastel 

It’s been a long time but  the new color for Spring Summer 2012. Pastels are soft and chalky, flirty pieces. Pastels can be layered,  lacey, or include some print of some sort.

These are just a Few of my Fav Pastel items.

Florals

Don’t discard your floral pieces just yet, this season the trend continues with a high-octane dose of flower power. Head to toe floral prints are all over the runway this season.

Flower Power is on your undergarments also, Gok Wan designed this beautiful piece.

Your Feet will also feel the flower power!

Lace

The versatile fabrication takes on sultry lingerie vibes in black and a boho disposition in muted tones on cotton. Recently, i’ve spotted girls in white, lavender, red looks that speak to a more girlish sensibility. People usually expect Lace to be black, but i have seen it in Fuchsia,yellow, browns and its just as sultry.

Black and White

Sophisticated and chic, the coupled color combination of Black & White paired together, will never go out style.  The classic black and white combination both compliments each other and creates a unique contrast of light and dark.

Sexy Crop Tops

If you know me you know i will be rocking this trend till the end of time. It’s a major 80’s flashback, i can just see the high side ponytails, faded jeans and hightops already. PS: Lets not forget the leg warmers!!  I love how fashion tends to repeat itself overtime.  This trend will never get old and its so fabulous that plus size gals like myself can rock this.  Quick Tip: If you dont feel comfortable with a lil skin showing you can just put a tank top under the shirt.

Prints oh my!

Prints are in this season, dont shy away from it just because you are curvy. I use to stay away from prints in fear i will look like a walking Couch! That is farther from the truth. Don’t be Afraid to rock prints. Big, bold prints  are in season especially animal-inspired (my fav is Leopard print).  Believe it or not prints can help distract the eye from a problem area.  A bold, statement-driven top paired with a dark bottom (which can be black pants or dark denim) can divert eyes from your problem area.

Beyoncé Confirms Pregnancy On VMA Red Carpet…

After years of denying endless pregnancy rumors, Beyoncé finally has some good news to share.

The “Single Ladies” singer is pregnant.

Beyoncé held her belly as she arrived at the Video Music Awards Sunday wearing a long, red dress, quite the opposite of her normal midriff-baring stage costumes.

 

When addressing photographers on the red carpet, Beyoncé said, “I have a surprise!” People reported.

Beyoncé’s rep later confirmed the news to the magazine. “I’m happy to say it’s true,” the rep said, according to People.

In a June interview special on “Piers Morgan Tonight,” the “Single Ladies” singer said she looked forward to parenthood.

“I always said I would have a baby at 30,” said the singer whose 30^thbirthday is September 4.

Apparently, Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z has also had children on his mind. He and Kanye rapped about fatherhood on “New Day” from their new album, “Watch The Throne.”

Kim Kardashian Slams Plus Size Women…..

Okay I love me some Kim K She is Beauitful, But Not when she does not think before she speaks it Disgusts me.

Kim Kardashian must have been livid when she opened the latest issue of Us Weekly and found out that the magazine is touting her as the new spokesperson for Forever 21′s new “plus-sized” line of clothing for heavier women.

In the magazine, Us Weekly claims that Kim was a fan of the plus-sized duds!

Of course, Kim Kardashian retaliated on her official blog, saying

“I am a huge fan of Forever 21 and I’m very happy they have expanded their line to include a plus-size range, but I am not in that size category and this article makes it sound like I am! I am a curvy girl and I love my curves, but curvy and plus-sized are two very different things. I work really hard to maintain my curves while staying slim and healthy, so to be classed as a “fuller-figured woman” of extra large proportions is a little offensive.

For the record, I am a size 2, not 2XL.”

I Mean i have never read such Immature words come out of her mouth since she Cussed at her mother….. I understand what she said she *may* have said out of anger.. BUT what she said was rude, snide, derogatory and whatever adjective works!  People fail to realize it’s not what you say but how u say it. She could have went about setting the record straight about her “size” without offending anyone else. The remarks she said while “defending” herself was rude, tasteless and very unthoughtful. There’s nothing wrong with being a size 2 but she spoke like there was something wrong with being plus size.  Basically she implied that all plus size woman are Unhealthy and dont workout are your freaking kidding me!!!  I mean i work my tush off in the Gym and im still plus size and am veryyyy healthy than most people… Im really Tired of this Stigma people have of Plus size Women like they are lazy! its Simply Untrue!

How she made it sound is like she would not want to be Plus size like its something Taboo.. Really Kim? Really? I mean i can say soooo many mean things about her etc BUT! … I’m not going to stoop to her Level and Assume things of her or call her out on  her more than Obvious Misleading Comment…. Im going to be a Lady like she should be… Like my mom says Don’t  Think once, Think Twice, think Three times before you speak….. Take those words of Wisdom Kim Kardashian…….  You need them…. 🙂

The dream started in 2003, while (Amy)-the owner) was running her colorful fashion line, Shrinkle. To compliment her flashy clothing designs, she began wearing theatrical Kryolan brand makeup she adopted from performers in the underground drag queen clubs she frequented. After showing it off online, she immediately realized there was a huge demand for this bright makeup in the club scene. Okay! i love Marie Claire Just like the next girl but when they start Slamming people for the way they Look or how Fat they are is crossing the line thats exactly what….”Maura Kelly” Did! she crossed the line and Marie Claire Editors Condoned her hateful speech because they allowed her to post her Rant!. she is basically saying in her article that Obese People do not have the right to Love or Make-Out with each other because they have Rolls!!!

she thinks that because she was Anorexic she can make these hateful Comments! But that does not make it OK! I feel bad for Maura Kelly Really i do. Cuz do u know how many Plump Coworkers she has!? they will not respect her and even look her way because of what she said she wrote in the heat of the Moment! SMH!

Judge for yourself. Here are some highlights:

“I think I’d be grossed out if I had to watch two characters with rolls and rolls of fat kissing each other … because I’d be grossed out if I had to watch them doing anything. To be brutally honest, even in real life, I find it aesthetically displeasing to watch a very, very fat person simply walk across a room — just like I’d find it distressing if I saw a very drunk person stumbling across a bar or a heroine addict slumping in a chair.”

It’s time women’s magazines step up to the plate and do just that. Because, for now, they aren’t really “women’s magazines” at all. 5 Things Your Hair Stylist Won’t Tell You! O.O

1. You don’t need to get highlights every time you get your hair done.

The reality is if your hair has been highlighted every time its been colored, the chances of overlapping and over processing are greater than not. Try breaking your base instead of highlights when it’s time for your color touch ups. That way, you’ll give your hair a small break while saving money and looking color fresh.

2. Skipping conditioning treatments at the salon is totally fine.
Conditioning treatments aren’t bad, especially on damaged hair, however, over conditioning with expensive treatments can sometimes leave you with a big bill at check out time. Try requesting the moisturizing conditioners that are complimentary with your shampoo and ask to be sit under the dryer for 5 to 10 minutes. Compare to see if there’s a real difference in the way your hair feels after.

3. It’s OK to mix expensive and cheapo products.
Just because you love a high-end shampoo with a double-digit price tag doesn’t mean you have to use the same brand of conditioner, hairspray, serum, etc. Your stylist might try to push the whole line on you, saying they work best together, but it’s totally fine to save cash by splurging on one haircare item and hitting the drugstore for the rest.

4. Your hair won’t grow faster if you trim it.
But the truth is your hair won’t look as good as you’re growing it out if you let too much time lapse between cuts. So just be sure to tell your stylist you want it to grow longer — that way she can trim only a little bit to keep it healthy, but she’ll know to preserve as much of the length as possible.

 

 

 

 

 

5. You don’t have to shampoo your hair every day if it’s curly or wavy.

The “wash and wear” haircut and the daily shampoo are really only needed if you have really fine hair. If your hair is wavy or curly, it tends to be a little drier, so you really shouldn’t shampoo every day.
