So is it just me or is it super hot this summer!? I have been finding my self spending time at the beach more frequently. And you know what that means Sleeveless tops, i know i am not the only woman who dislikes showing her arms.
But forget feeling embarrassed because when its 100 degrees outside all i want to do is be naked . Anyway here a few tips to get your skin ready to bare your underarms this summer. One thing i hate is when i do wear my sleeveless shirts are the Dark marks under the arms that sometimes occur. Let’s first look into what causes Dark Marks under the arms.
1. Excessive Sweating
2. Shaving (if you shave make sure to use a lotion or shaving cream while shaving. Shaving on the skin will cause irritation and razor bumps ouch!)
3. Dead skin build up
4. Alcohol or strong fragrances in deodorants( if you are going to use a deoorant the one i swear by is Dove’s Clear Tone Skin Renew Deodorant.
5. Friction due to tight clothing which brushes against the skin (In summer wear looser fitting tops, because of the heat having clingy tops on will just make you super sweaty)
I know its hard to keep cool and not sweaty when its summer so here are a few tips and tricks that i’ve learned to keep cool. Okay so all of us who were born with thick thighs know Chafing is a big problem especially in the summer.
Your bare thighs chafe or stick when they rub together under a skirt. To keep your thighs from chafing simply apply an antiperspirant to the inside of your thighs. You can use roll-ons or sprays. The anti-perspirant keeps your thighs from sweating so chafing won’t happen. Keep the anti-perspirant in your purse for really long days in the sun. You may need to re-apply as the day wears on and the product wears off.
All about the lips
Keep Lips Soft and Moisturized
Most of us are pretty good about wearing lip balm or a lip moisturizer in the winter. Even when the weather is humid a lip moisturizer is needed, especially one with sunscreen. Lips need to remain moisturized to keep them soft and smooth. If your lips become dry and flaky, try exfoliating them with a little brown sugar and olive oil.
Fight Frizz this summer
It’s summer and your hair may get a bit frizz here are my top tips to beat that frizz. Only Lather up a few times a week, that natural oils that are in your hair is a good frizz fighter. If your hair feels a bit oily try a Dry Shampoo, i recommend trying Dove’s invigorating Dry Shampoo. Don’t Towel Dry your hair! If you are trying to beat the frizz thats only going to make it worse, It roughs up the hair’s cuticle so that it won’t lie flat, which makes it look frizzy. Instead, use a superabsorbent microfiber towel to gently press the water out of your hair.
Don’t look washed out poolside
Adding a hint of color to just your cheeks and lips will prevent you from looking completely washed out while sitting poolside, look for waterproof blushes that won’t smear in the heat.

Exfoliate and Moisturize/Hydrate your skin.
Exfoliating your skin is very important in the summer. Skin cells are shed at a very quick rate every day, so if you do not get rid of dead cells sitting on top of your skin they can cause it to look dull and dry.Choose a gentle exfoliant with natural ingredients such as oatmeal or sugar. Moisturize and Hydrate it Excessive heat can dehydrate the skin, so it’s important to keep it moisturized during the summer. It’s tempting to skip moisturizer in the summer because of excess oils on the skin, but why not switch to something lighter? Use a lotion instead of a creme—it contains more water and less oil. If you wish to continue using an oil-based moisturizer, simply use less of it or apply it on damp skin. Try moisturizers made with kukui nut oil (an extremely lightweight oil) or camellia oil (from the green tea plant). Both are good for all skin types and are very rich in antioxidants. By protecting your skin every day, exfoliating it a few times a week, and making sure to keep it moisturized, you’ll be glowing all summer long
Remember to stay cool!
Don’t forget to keep cool while you are out in the sun, my Mother always taught me to put a bottle of water in the freezer at night to get it ready for the next morning.
